The Civil Guard surprises a person selling a hundred allegedly stolen objects (07/11/2018)

So far, the arrested is attributed the alleged responsibility of crime against property

Although some of the objects have already been returned to their owners, there are still a lot of unidentified tools

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation 'Egolio', an investigation aimed at clarifying numerous crimes against property, which has been settled so far with the arrest of a person for the crime of robbery with force and the seizure of about a hundred allegedly stolen objects, mainly tools and machinery.

Effective Prevention of Citizen Security of the Benemérita began the operation to investigate a series of crimes against property, most thefts with force in homes, industrial buildings and vehicles in which had been removed tool and construction machinery, facts that had originated social alarm.

The first investigations and the exhaustive eye inspections carried out allowed the researchers to determine that after the authorship of the robberies could be found a group of people with a remarkable geographic mobility and certain criminal experience.

Parallel to the development of the operation and thanks to citizen collaboration, the Civil Guard obtained a valuable clue about the possible storage and supply of a large number of objects stolen in the robberies investigated.

Last Sunday, November 4, a citizen who had suffered a robbery in his van three weeks earlier while he was in Fortuna, from which he was robbed of various tools, observed that in a stall of a street market selling this type of objects of the Murcian hamlet of Sangonera la Seca were offered several utensils from those who had stolen, so he contacted the Civil Guard to report the facts.

A uniformed patrol and several investigative agents traveled to the place to verify the facts.

Once at the sales point, the complainant recognized, without any doubt, several of the contraptions of his property, which were stolen weeks before.

The Civil Guards initiated the corresponding procedures foreseen for these cases with the purpose of determining the origin of the objects offered in the post, but the person who had them in his power could not provide any type of proof or purchase invoice that proves the lawful their origin, for which reason they proceeded to arrest him, as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of robbery with force, to the return to the legitimate owner of his stolen material and to the seizure of all the machinery that was in the power of the arrested.

The agents continue with the investigation to identify more people who could have collaborated with the now detained and to clarify a considerable number of crimes against the patrimony, estimating that they could find themselves after the authorship of several dozens of criminal acts committed in different municipalities of the Region of Murcia and the province of Alicante.

Effects recovered without identifying

In the post intended for sale was involved around a hundred objects, among which is a large number of DIY tools and numerous material for construction, which have not yet been related to the criminal acts investigated.

If a victim of theft believes that among the objects recovered are those that have been stolen, you can contact the Civil Guard of Santomera to verify and, if necessary, recover them.
