They ask the Socialist mayor not to prevent them from manifesting themselves by applying the Gag Law (19/01/2017)

The employees are scheduled to resume protests because the future of the 51 families is at stake, according to mine engineer and spokesman Francisco José Palazón

For the workers, the socialists and We-Alternate for Santomera - who hold the mayor's office and municipal power in coalition, are bordering the prevarication by delaying the deadlines not to grant it

ARIMESA workers today announced new mobilizations before the silence of the Santomera City Council governed by the PSOE and We (Alternativa por Santomera) who, knowing that the license is being processed, intend to close the company by dilating the deadlines not to grant it.

Francisco José Palazón, mining engineer and employee spokesman, assures that, to date, all current legislation is complied with and the last environmental permits are in order, as required by the Autonomous Community with competence in this area.

For the workers only a negligent attitude of the Socialists and We, who hold the mayoralty and municipal power in coalition, maintains the uncertainty of the future of the company.

In the opinion of the employees, politicians, as well as some municipal official, are bordering the prevarication.

The workers are planning to resume their claims because their livelihoods and that of their 51 families are at stake, according to mining engineer and spokesman Francisco José Palazón.

Gag law

The employees are indignant with the mayor of the PSOE, Inmaculada Sánchez Roca, because it tries to prevent the permission of demonstration in front of the consistory applying the Gag Law.

According to her, the noise of the protests disrupts the environment.

The company has been waiting for the municipal certification for months after receiving all the positive reports from the departments of the Autonomous Community to continue production.

According to the operators, nothing prevents the company from complying with the current legality except the unjustified delay of the license of the city council.

The employees of ARIMESA ensure that the mayor of the PSOE, Inma Sánchez Roca, persists in his negligent attitude without justifying the ultimate goal of his action.

He leaves his obligations as first mayor and lets Alternative for Santomera make spurious decisions against workers.

They do not rule out taking legal action along with the company, since she and her government partners, Alternativa por Santomera, are close to the crime.

Alternative by Santomera amalgamates different groups, such as Izquierda Unida, Equo and Santomera Movement.

Desperate situation of workers

The employees, whose number exceeds half a hundred, as well as the workers of subsidiary companies that exceed 200, assure that they will go for everything in the maintenance of their jobs "because it is a fair claim that does not harm anyone and Brings wealth to the municipality and their families, "says Palazón.

And he adds: "These political parties that govern Santomera in coalition have been determined to end our lives when they know that the City Council is in an absurd attitude and with criminal visions."

The company is open, and in continuous activity, since 1974 in the same facilities.

At the moment, ARIMESA employs a total of 51 direct operators, since four contracts have been extended.

There are also 200 indirect jobs at stake.

The standards of productive quality are certified by all official bodies.
