Fomento informs the residents of Santomera of the planned aid for urban regeneration and housing rehabilitation (28/03/2017)

The director general of Planning, Architecture and Housing, Nuria Fuentes, and technical staff of the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure today informed the mayor of Santomera, Inmaculada Sánchez, members of the municipal corporation and neighbors of the municipality of the aid of € 11.3 million earmarked this year by the Community for the regeneration of urban areas and housing rehabilitation (ARRU), within the Housing Plan 2017.

This plan allows the town councils to delimit the space in which they intend to carry out urban regeneration, which is a degraded area, and then request the Community to declare it as a Regeneration and Urban Renewal Area so that the aid can be granted.

This type of aid includes works in housing such as improvements in foundations, facades, roofs, accessibility and sanitation;

And works of urbanization, regeneration of green zones, improvement of squares, arrangement of streets and improvement of common services, among other actions.

The general manager and the technical staff informed the neighbors of the procedures and documentation that it is necessary to present to request the aid for the rehabilitation of their houses, since the call for aid will be forthcoming.

The grants amount to a maximum of 35 percent of the total budget for reconstruction and urbanization, while for rehabilitation up to 47.5 percent of the total budget can be reached;

With a maximum of 14,850 euros per rehabilitated house, 30,000 euros per rebuilt house, 2,000 euros per housing for urbanization works and up to 4,000 euros per year for the relocation of families, for a maximum of three years.

Fuentes stressed that "it is a mainly social program, which will benefit more than 3,000 families during this year of about twenty municipalities and that generates jobs in the areas where it is developed."

Within the Housing Plan 2013-2016, the municipalities of Cartagena, Murcia (Los Rosales neighborhood in El Palmar), Lorca, Torre Pacheco, Bullas (urban center and La Copa), Cehegín, Lorquí, Jumilla (old town and neighborhood of San Juan), Puerto Lumbreras and La Unión, with a total investment of 58.34 million euros.
