Since March 27, work has been underway to modernize three of the streets surrounding the Nuestra Señora del Rosario school: the Anastasio Abellán, David Castejón and the Tinajas tracks.
The action includes the elimination of architectural barriers, the renewal of the pavement with installation of single cobbler platform in the first two and replacement of asphalt and expansion of sidewalks in the third of them and improvement of the network of sanitation and drinking water supply including the replacement of fiber cement pipes and lead connections with other PVC pipes.
The project is part of the Works and Services Plan (POS) of 2017, funded by the regional government (62%) and the City Council of Santomera (38%).
It had a bidding budget of 157,177.26 euros, although the competitive concurrence between several companies allowed to reduce the award to 127,690.8 euros, which represents a decrease of 18.76% and a saving of almost 30,000 euros for the municipal coffers .
Trisacor, the winning company of the contest, has three months to carry out the work, although from the municipal services it is hoped to shorten this period to reduce to the maximum the inconvenience caused to the neighborhood.
The mayor, Inma Sánchez Roca, and the Councilor for Works and Services, Joaquín Rubio, visited the area this morning to follow the development of the works.
Both have stressed the urgent need to renew services in these streets, which have accumulated more than three decades of life, as well as the inclusion of environmental and social criteria, as well as economic, in the award process.
This, they have reported, has allowed, as an added value, the hiring of a person attached to the Youth Guarantee System for three months.
