The lack of jobs resulting from the economic crisis along with the support received from the Department of Education and Culture, have been crucial to the boom experienced by the training cycles, which offers each year the poet IES Julián Santomera Andugar in providing an alternative work within the branch of trade and marketing.

During the current academic year 2008-2009 have been deserted only 17 seats compared to 33 of the previous year, a total of 54 students from Fortuna, Abanilla, Cehegín, Morocco, France and Santomera, are enrolled in both degree cycle Technical environment on Trade, as in the training cycle Technician in International Trade.

These courses offered by the IES santomerano in collaboration with the Department of Education and Culture, include theoretical and practical training of 1,400 hours for the cycle on Trade Technical compared to 2,000 hours provided by International Trade, with the added ability in both cases, Erasmus access to perfect the language skills of students.

"The training courses are backed by thirteen years of experience, training professionals," stressed the Councillor for Education and Culture, Civic Maribel, adding that, "the upper International Trade is one of the most popular of the Region because only offered at Cartagena, Lorca and Santomera. "

More than 70 businesses, stores and banks throughout the region working with the poet Julian Andujar IES during the period of placement that all students must meet before receiving the official title, to access any of the alternatives presented by these employment cycles as a store manager, case manager or storekeeper, among others.

Councillor, Civic Maribel, said that "the option to make the practices of companies in any European Union countries, has attracted many university students as Tourism, Advertising and Business; enrolled in this course" .
