The Community studies arrange places for older people in the municipality of Santomera (06/09/2016)

The Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Thomas Violante, along with the mayor of Santomera, Inmaculada Sánchez, inaugurated today the nursing homes and day center in the municipality.

The concessionaire, Sergesa, opened the doors of its facilities, which will house 114 elderly people in residential basis and 25 day center.

The construction of the new residence has been funded by the Community with 1,265,495 euros.

Currently all seats are private, although the Ministry intends to arrange seats in municipalities where there are no public places, and therefore the conclusion is studying in Santomera.

Murcia has increased the number of places of residence for the elderly, and only this year have created 520 new places for older people, 490 homes and 30 day centers. Violante Thomas noted "progress in care one of the most important groups that protect, thus ensuring their welfare. "
