The Civil Guard deployed Murcia on Saturday a large device to clear a string of fires in container Santomera, culminating with the arrest of four young people, two of them minors, as alleged perpetrators of damage and public disorder.
Proceedings were initiated in the early hours of Saturday, the 29th, when civil guards specializing in prevention of public security were alerted burning serial dumpsters in different parts of the town of Santomera and damage to street furniture, for what a large device to identify, locate and arrest those responsible was established.
These events generated alarm among the population.
While effective fire smothered the flames, agents fanned out different areas of the town to gather information about the authorship of the fire and locate the perpetrators.
The deployment allowed a few minutes later, identifying four young people who were in the vicinity of one of the fires and, noting the police presence, launched getaway.
The suspects ignored the directions of the Meritorious, so after a short tracking agents overtook the fugitives, who were arrested after verifying their alleged involvement in the events.
During the arrest a policeman was injured due to the resistance opposed by some of those arrested, who were also seized allegedly used in the commission of criminal activity material.
The balance of the criminal activity of the detainees has proved now, in a few hours, the alleged burning of 19 containers of various types of waste, including a dozen containers of organic waste, five paper and two glass plus cause damage to housing and wiring.
The total estimated value of over 10,000 euros.
The four arrested, two of them 18 and two children, who attributed them to the alleged perpetrators of the crimes of public disorder and damage, along with the effects seized and the proceedings have been made available to the judicial authorities competent.
The arrests were made by civilian guards Public Safety Unit of the 1st Company (USECICO), who have enjoyed the cooperation of other units of the Corps, as well as the local police Santomera.
Following these arrests, the Guardia Civil has begun an investigation to determine whether the now arrested are involved in the commission of similar crimes.
