Health workforce increases the Emergency Department of Primary Santomera (08/07/2008)

The Ministry of Health has increased in recent months, the staff of medical personnel and nursing Santomera both the Health Center and Emergency Department of Primary Care (PCES), to better serve the public and meet their care needs.

Health staff also increased Health Center Santomera incorporating a family doctor, a pediatrician, a nurse and an administrative assistant, who work the afternoon shift, which has expanded the healthcare delivery until 9 pm, from so that the health-care hour Monday through Friday at the Center are 8 am to 9 pm, with guards on Saturdays from 8 am to 3 pm.

For its part, the opening hours from Monday to Saturday SUAP is 3 pm to 8 am the next day and 24 hours on holidays.

On the other hand, the Directorate General of Planning reported favorably on the request of the City of Santomera to build a primary care center in the village of Matanzas, and have already taken steps designed to provide a grant amounting to 170,520 euros to the municipality for execution.

Santomera pilot municipality in the implementation of electronic prescription

Also, the Minister of Health informed the mayor of Santomera on the steps being taken by his department aimed at developing a pilot basis later this year, the electronic prescription, so Santomera will become the first municipality in the Region have with this procedure.

This system will replace the traditional recipe for a paper to electronic prescriptions that can be accessed using the health card.

This measure is positive in several respects, first the system allows for greater patient safety, reduces paperwork and progress in the implementation of new information technologies.

For electronic prescribing a reality the Department and the College of Pharmacists work together in the computerization of health centers and pharmacies, Santomera first and then the rest of the region.

The introduction of electronic prescriptions in the region is the result of an agreement signed in 2006 between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Industry through the Public Enterprise Red.es for the development of online health.
