The Minister of Public Works signed the final adoption of Santomera PGMO (07/08/2008)

The Minister of Works, Housing and Transport, José Ballesta, today signed Santomera City Council final approval of the General Municipal Plan of Arrangement (PGMO) of the municipality, accompanied by the local mayor, José María Sánchez.

The document, prepared by the City, has been adapted to the Land Law of the Region of Murcia, forms a balanced pattern of city and classifies more than 61 percent of the land as undeveloped land.

It also protects 1,258 hectares of land for its natural values, landscape and forestry, and allocates five percent of the land to open spaces, general systems and equipment and infrastructure for use by social, educational, sports and recreation.

José Ballesta said after signing the document that "final approval of the PGMO, Santomera City Council has defined the urban development of the municipality for the coming years, ensuring social and economic progress of the town through a model competitive urban structure of the forthcoming decades. "

Seven plans approved this year
