Agriculture Santomera invests three million euros in sanitation and treatment actions (10/03/2010)

The Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, and the mayor of Santomera, José María Sánchez, today visited the works of sanitation collectors Santomera Southeast and El Sisco

This action consists of a separate collection system for sewage and rainwater, with a length of 3,000 meters in the first case, and 745 meters of large diameter pipe for the disposal of rainwater.

The works have an investment of 1.4 billion euros, funded 80 percent by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union and the Ministry of Agriculture and Water.

The owner of Agriculture and Water said that with this network "will Santomera solved a historical lack of stormwater drainage in the center of town, in the area where you will find weekly market."

According to Cerda, this action "will streamline the sanitation infrastructure of the municipality in which the most important role as will the new treatment plant in the municipality and built and is now being extended to receive water from these areas for treatment, with an investment 1.5 million euros.

Cerda said that this sanitation system "adds to the extensive network of collectors that the Ministry of Agriculture and Water is building in various municipalities in Murcia."

The forecast of the Ministry is implementing this year a total of fifty collecting drains and rain for almost the entire region.
